Japanese Trailer for Tomorrowland Reveals More Secrets

tomorrowland-1964-worldsfair-iasw

Don’t watch this trailer if you want to remain mostly unspoiled for Tomorrowland. But if you are as excited as I am, you might enjoy seeing the extra footage that Disney sneaks into the Japanese version of the trailer.

It might be gone from YouTube, but you can see it on vimeo, at least for now. I’ve also added more screen grabs below.

First, there’s a great digital composition recreating the 1964 World’s Fair, then we cut to the filming at “It’s A Small World” that took place at Disneyland last year. There’s a young boy wearing the pin with a ‘T’ on it and he gets scanned while on iasw. And suddenly he’s taken to a secret underground layer. We then cut to the present.

We have a few additional cuts of the city in Tomorrowland and more retro glorious recreation of the 1964 World’s Fair. I love that they’ve included the Tower of the Four Winds. Would have been easy to build a set and leave that out. There’s also a great geeky collectible shop. Where if you look fast, you can see R2D2 and Han Solo.

What do you think about the idea that Walt was part of a secret cabal with the aim of making the world a better place?
