Matterhorn and Monorail Attractions Poster T-shirts

We’ve been following the Disney Parks poster t-shirt releases for some time. This week they’re out with two new shirts that will only be available online for a limited time. The way it works is you order the shirt and size and then Disney makes exactly the number of shirts needed and ships yours out to you.

This set of shirts pairs the Matterhorn Bobsleds with the Monorail system. Both attractions Imagineer Bob Gurr played an important role in. I hope they send him a complimentary pair.

The Matterhorn Bobsled poster was originally designed by Paul Hartley in 1959. The Monorail artist is unknown. If you like these posters, but don’t want them on a t-shirt, you might want to get your hands on a copy of the “Poster Art of the Disney Parks” book by Walt Disney Imagineers Vanessa Hunt and Danny Handke.

As I wrote about in July, the Matterhorn is a sentimental favorite for me as my Grandfather was an Imagineer on the construction team. I’m definitely planning on ordering that one.

Sadly, the park park poster t-shirts won’t be available to order from the Disney Parks section of the Disney Store until August 18th. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go browser shopping today. The new arrivals section is full of amazing Nightmare before Christmas, Haunted Mansion and other fun theme park stuff that you can only get at the parks or via the Disney Store.

I’m a fan of this Christmas ornament that features the “Jolly Holly” wreath monster from Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas that you can now pick up online.
