In a blast of that lovely Disney synergy, ABC will air a new special called “Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe” on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

This special will bring together stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, celebrity fans, filmmakers, and pop culture icons to examine how Marvel Studios has become the cultural phenomenon it has.

Starting with 2008’s Iron Man and continuing through today, this special will featuring exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes footage from all of the Marvel films, One-Shots, and TV projects.

There will also be sneak peeks at new footage from Marvel Studios’ upcoming films, “Captain America: The Winter Solider,” “Guardians of The Galaxy,” and even “The Avengers: Age of Ultron,” which just began filming last month.

Whew! I don’t know how they’re going to pack that all into a one-hour special, but I’m definitely going to be tuned in.

“Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe” airs March 18 at 8pm (ET) on ABC.

  1. You know what would make the special even better? Not having mean yet another break from Agents of SHIELD. Both Lost and Once have had similar specials that have aired right before the actual episode, why couldn’t they do that?

  2. So After only 2 Weeks they break AoS AGAIN!!!!!

the should have put the special on monday and plugged AoS the whole time.

Wondering if the guy scheduling AoS is the same guy who was in charge of marketing John Carter

  3. I agree about them scheduling this as a break in the AOS episodes. They need to have bigger blocks of original episodes, and there’s no reason this special can’t air in addition to an AOS episode, instead of in place of.

  4. This sounds like a “must see” for fans, but the scheduling is problematic. Their core fans are going to hang in there no matter what, but if they hope to expand their viewership they need to stick with an airing schedule that doesn’t have so many holes that it looks like Swiss cheese.
