If you’re unlucky enough to still be suffering from the “polar vortex,” maybe the thought of spring at the 2014 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will help warm you up! The festival will be returning from March 5th through May 18th, and it will feature old favorites as well as some new surprises.

Back again this year will be the daily garden seminars and Tinker Bell’s Butterfly House, and the Outdoor Kitchens will make their second annual appearance. The kitchens will feature “sweet and savory” and “spring-inspired” menu choices, although there are no details yet about the specifics of the meals.

2012 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival

As usual the festival will be presented by HGTV, and there are a few new DIY stars on the roster this year, including “Crashers” Matt Blashaw, Matt Muenster, Amy Matthews, and Alison Victoria. Fan favorites Genevieve Gorder, Vern Yip, David Bromstad, Taniya Nayak, Chris Lambdon, John Gidding, and Chip Wade will also be returning to Epcot this year to offer their best advice to “help your home spring to life.”

Music lovers can once again enjoy the Flower Power Concert Series, and this year the concert will feature two new artists: Gary Lewis and the Playboys and The Alan Parsons Live Project.

Last but not least, the topiary displays! New this year will be Kermit and Miss Piggy featured in the World Showcase, and Goofy, Donald, and Daisy will welcome you at the main entrance to celebrate spring with a butterfly hunt. There will also be over 100 other beautiful topiary displays scattered throughout the park that showcase dozens of Disney favorites, from Bambi and friends to Woody and Buzz to Phineas and Ferb and more.

Is anyone planning on visiting Epcot during the festival? Which part excites you the most?

  1. We’ll be there during the Festival.

Aside from getting to hang out in the Wonders of Life pavilion and think sad thoughts about what once was there, our favorite part this year will definitely be the food kiosks around the park. Epcot seems to have really figured out that those special food offerings are a big money maker, as well as a favorite for guests. The special foods and drinks offered during the holidays were great, and I expect no less from the Flower & Garden Festival.
