Circle D – Weekly Disney RoundUp

There was a ton of news in the world of Disney this week. In case you missed it, here’s what we posted earlier this week:

A big Happy Mother’s Day to everyone out there who has ever hugged a child or made a wish for pain to go away. Pixar, as we see above, had their own unique take from Monsters University.

The week started with the news that Electronic Arts had secured the rights to develop all core Star Wars games. Star Wars Day was a hit and Star Wars Weekend is coming soon. Meanwhile Toyko Disneyland finally got Star Tours 2.0.

Disney Interactive released ‘Story‘ a new iOS app that helps you turn photos and videos into sharable moments.

Mark recapped ABC’s Castle “The Human Factor” and Once Upon A Time “Second Star to the Right“. We shared new video of the TV ad that placed The Evil Queen from Storybrook in the Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland.

1974_america_sings_albumWe delved into Disney history with a visit to the 1960′s and the St. Louis Disneyland that almost was and with an in progress animated recreation of Disneyland’s classic attraction “America Sings.” Back in the present day, Disneyland and California’s DOSH negotiated a settlement regarding workers safety issues in the park.

If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World, Chris wants you to know which attractions she loves by feels are underrated. We had video and photos from the beta-test of the Magic Kingdom’s A Pirates Adventure: Treasure of the Seven Seas

There was big news just up the street, Universal Orlando unveiled its worst kept secret: Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley is coming to the resort.

Finally, across the pond, Euro Disney continues its slow path to profitability, they’re still operating at a loss, but the gap is narrowing.

Happy Mother’s Day! I hope it was a Disney one.
