Patty Andrews Passes Away at 94

The last living member of the Andrew Sisters passed away Wednesday at the age of 94. Many might be wondering why this is being posted on a Disney site. Everyone knows the fantastic “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B” and “Rum and Coca Cola”, but the Andrews Sisters did provide a track for the Disney compilation film “Make Mine Music”

This fantastic short (That the upcoming Blue Umbrella Pixar short is copying…but I digress) called “Johnny Fedora and Alice Blue Bonnet” is the beautiful love story between two hats in a store front window. The short is great, but it would have been nothing without the incredible music given by The Andrew Sisters. I have included the short below.

My thoughts are with Patty’s family. You can bet that their music will live on as not only the girls who got spirits up during WWII through song, but also, at least in my book, as Disney Legends. We will miss you Patty. RIP.
