April has been a giant month for news across the Disney spectrum. Here’s a look back at the biggest stories of the month:

The New Fantasyland expansion attracted a lot of attention. Our weekly updates and the recent behind the walls video keep everyone informed as to the latest changes in the project. Also recent video from within the Be Our Guest restaurant gives guests a sneak peek that’s got everyone excited. We also got the first look at some dates as to when the rest of the expansion should open.

Disney announced that Ron Clements and John Musker feature animation’s most successful director duo, are back at work on the studio’s next hand-drawn animated feature. The Princess and the Frog was their most recent effort. The announcement of a new Pixar film also has people talking

Pixar released the final trailer for Brave and a few more stills from the movie. Based on reactions I’ve seen so far, the shine is still off Pixar with many fans taking a wait and see approach to Princess Merida and her clan. On the other hand, if your heart is racing thinking of the next film from Pixar, The Disney Store has already started selling merchandise from the film.

Thomas Kinkade died at age 54. Unfortunately there was some unsavory news about his personal life has emerged since his death, but you’ll have to look elsewhere for it.

Deviant Art artist Taja Vigilia’s lovely watercolor painting of Disney Princesses portrayed at the age of their movies is still quite popular landing page.

Coming up in May is Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the end of the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival with Mickey Dolenz performing in place of his dear departed friend Davy Jones from The Monkees. Of course, there’s that little film called Marvel’s The Avengers too, be sure to read Whit’s review.
