New Image from La Luna, Pixar’s Oscar Nominated Short

La Luna - Nonno, Papa and Bambino

This image of Nonno, Papa and Bambino from La Luna was just released by Disney*Pixar. The short film from Pixar has already been on the Festival Circuit and earned an Academy Award nomination. But your first chance to see it will be in front of Brave. It marks Enrico Casarosa’s directorial debut.

Here’s the official synopsis:

La Luna is the timeless fable of a young boy who is coming of age in the most peculiar of circumstances. Tonight is the very first time his Papa and Grandpa are taking him to work. In an old wooden boat they row far out to sea, and with no land in sight, they stop and wait. A big surprise awaits the little boy as he discovers his family’s most unusual line of work. Should he follow the example of his Papa, or his Grandpa? Will he be able to find his own way in the midst of their conflicting opinions and timeworn traditions?

If you haven’t seen the short video preview clip, I recommend watching that too.

The still from this short looks amazing. I’ve always been a big fan of moon over water scenes and knowing that this is going to air before Brave just makes me want to see it in theatres even more.
