Typhoon Lagoon Parking Lot Cast Member Injured by Hit and Run

The Orlando Sentinel reports that a 48-year old cast member of Disney’s water park Typhoon Lagoon was hit by a Jeep while working in the parking lot. The driver of the Jeep left the scene and is now the subject of a hit-and-run investigation with possible charges pending.

The Disney cast member was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, but obviously serious enough to warrant a trip to the hospital. We at The Disney Blog wish him a swift and full recovery.

With the number of cars that pass through Walt Disney World’s parking lots on a daily basis, it’s a wonder this sort of accident doesn’t happen more frequently. I have complained before about the poor job Disney does with the efficiency of parking at its theme parks, but their safety record is pretty good here.
