Dancing with the Stars: And Then There Were Four

Last night’s show was exhausting, wasn’t it? I felt drained after watching that two hour dance-a-palooza, and I wasn’t even the one dancing. With just a couple more weeks left, tonight’s results were the toughest yet. But before we get to our semifinalists ….

Kirstie and Maks were given the encore, although their dance wasn’t in my top three from last night. A pity encore, perhaps.

Back to the semifinalists – Hines/Kym and Kirstie/Maks are both through to the next round!

This week also brought back my favorite results show gimmick – DanceCenter, with Jerry Rice and Kenny Mayne. I know these segments are cheesy, but they always, always make me laugh.

Oh hey, Michael Bolton … you’re still making music, huh? Or did you just miss the ballroom? His performance was accompanied by a lovely routine from Dmitry and Anna. There was also a segment about a family of dancers who lost their dad but still pursued their love of dance. Then they got to perform, which was nice. It’s lovely to see people other than the DWTS Troupe filling up these results shows.

After recovering from some vocal trouble backstage, Adele visited the ballroom to sing “Rollin’ in the Deep.” The accompanying dance performance was choreographed by Travis Wall, which makes me doubly excited for the premiere of So You Think You Can Dance later this month.

And then, just like that, Romeo and Chelsie were sent home. It wasn’t a total surprise, because he hasn’t been connecting with the audience for a couple of weeks now, and I think we all felt a little bad for Ralph last night. Speaking of the Karate Kid, I hope he’ll be able to make it through next week’s semifinals. Rest on, rest off.
