Growing up, as I did, in the Pacific Northwest, Killer Whales were just part of the mythology of the region. When I first visited SeaWorld San Diego as a kid, I knew right away how special these animals are and how important SeaWorld’s program of education, conservation, and awareness is to maintaining the species for future generations.
So I’m happy to see SeaWorld parks begin a slight turn back toward positioning their shows as examples of this stewardship. For instance, take this recently released this clip on “The Story of Shamu”
