“Well what do you know, that horse has got legs.” I guarantee you that someone at the Walt Disney Studios said that this week. Secretariat, which opened to less than stellar box office numbers has managed to actually pull in some decent show money by managing to keep the box office numbers from declining too much. Slow from the gate with only $12.5 million in box office, the film is expected to reach the home stretch with somewhere between $50 and $60 million. Not a runaway winner like Disney had hoped for, but still pretty good considering it has an estimated budget of $35 million.
