Who Wants to Be A Millionaire Trial goes to Jury

I haven’t been giving this much ink here, but for the last 6 years there has been a trial underway questioning ABC/Disney’s management of the ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ TV game show and how much of the profits they had to pay its creators. That case has no gone to jury.

It’s a potential payout of $250 million if Disney is found to be a bad actor. It comes down to one jury’s take on typical Hollywood accounting practices of inflating production and marketing costs to ensure no ‘profits’ are made, even though a show may have done billions in dollars in advertising. These things are never decided in the first courtroom, appeals will be forth coming no matter what the verdict is.
