10 millionth Guest feted on Disney’s Magical Express.

Disney knows a good thing when they see one. Getting guests to visit Walt Disney World resort without a car means they’re much less likely to leave the resort during their vacation, which means more money in Disney’s pocket. Now, almost five years to the day after launching at Orlando International Airport, Disney’s Magic Express has welcomed it’s 10,000,000th captive guest.

The 10,000,000th guest, Lori Ogurkis and her family from Hazelton, PA, received a special reception at the airport, complete with a surprise visit and a gift basket from Mickey Mouse. The Ogurkis family then rode in their own private motor coach to Disney’s Polynesian Resort to begin their magical vacation.

“We are delighted to welcome the Ogurkis family to Walt Disney World Resort. Disney’s Magical Express Service, introduced in 2005, has been extremely popular with our guests and has become an important part of the overall guest experience,” said Jo-Ann Arndt, who oversees Disney’s Magical Express in her role as Vice President of Shoreside Travel Operations for Disney Cruise Line. “Our Guests love the convenience of our service and Disney’s Magical Express helps maintain both Orlando International Airport’s and Central Florida’s image as a quality and affordable destination.”

Disney’s Magical Express provides complimentary motor coach transportation and luggage transfer services from Orlando International Airport to and from select Walt Disney World Resort hotels for passengers of all Orlando air carriers.

“Orlando International Airport is pleased to support innovative and seamless means of transportation for the traveling public. Resort transportation as provided by Disney’s Magical Express is a unique option that helps enhance the overall travel experience for millions of visitors to Central Florida,” said Steve Gardner, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.

Each year Disney’s Magical Express now carries more than 2.2 million guests and their luggage, reducing highway and terminal traffic and shortening wait times at Orlando International Airport.

  1. Wow, a family. What a coincidence. It never seems to be a loner, or a couple of buddies, a group of sorority sisters, or any other arrangement. Funny how it works out that way.

    1. It is funny how it works out that way. Also funny how it wasn’t someone staying at one of Disneys cheaper hotels… it was a family staying at one of the most expensive hotels at Disney. I’m surprised they didn’t “pick” someone staying at the Grand Floridian.

    2. You are 100% right… Disney has no respect for a couple. Reservation for two are almost impossible to get.. My wife and i have been going to Disney for 31 years and just had are 76 trip..And I’m sorry to say that service his getting worse unlest your a Family. I can say this because we have had my Sister and her family with us on 3 other occasion. Reservation were no problem. [also note the time of year had nothing to do with our reservation problem] One we always plan four to five months and always stay at a Disney Resort. Two reservation we start calling 90 to 120 day only to hear we all booked for that time or day…Universal does more for it,s guest from Reservation to attractions and not that so called fast past…
