Travel Tuesday – The Morning Report

Most of the travel attention will be on the return of Captain EO to Disneyland today. But there are a few other travel related items to take note of:

ESPN The Weekend returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this weekend and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex gets rededicated tomorrow. More coverage coming soon.

The Meyer Werft shipyards has opened an exhibit in their Visitor Center that shows off some of the design elements from the Disney Dream, which will hit the high seas in 2011. I’d love to see something like this in Downtown Disney…

It sounds like Disneyland and Walt Disney World may finally be offering their annual passholders a monthly payment plan. Pretty much every other park in the Orlando area offers a payment plan already.

Jefferey Wasserstrom reports on the odd coincidences between Shanghai Disneyland and the influence World Expos had on Walt Disney’s Life. (A good read if you have a few minutes.)

Will a King become a Pirate? Disney wants Ian McShane to play the role of Blackbeard in Pirates 4. Seems like perfect casting to me.

I’ve followed the career of fellow Portland, Oregon native Katee Sackhoff since “The Education of Max Bickford” and am happy to learn that she’ll soon be coming to ABC in a new crime drama.
