DISNEY’S TINKER BELL NAMED “HONORARY AMBASSADOR OF GREEN”
AT UNITED NATIONS HEADQUARTERS

Celebrating the World Premiere of the Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure movie under the Secretary-General’s Creative Community Outreach Initiative (CCOI), and promoting environmental awareness in the lead-up to the upcoming Copenhagen conference on Climate Change

Disney’s Tinker Bell was named “Honorary Ambassador of Green” yesterday, October 25, 2009, by United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Communications and Public Information, Kiyo Akasaka at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Tinker Bell was joined by voice cast Mae Whitman (Tinker Bell), Raven Symone (Iridessa), TINKER BELL AND THE LOST TREASURE director Klay Hall, producer Sean Lurie and UN delegates as they celebrated the world premiere of TINKER BELL AND THE LOST TREASURE, which arrives on DVD & Blu-ray on October 27th.

‘We’re delighted Tinker Bell has agreed to be our Honorary Ambassador of Green,” said Mr. Akasaka. “This beloved animated character can help us inspire kids and their parents to nurture nature and do what they can to take care of the environment.”

Since its earliest days, The Walt Disney Company has sought to inspire a love of nature and spirit of conservation through its storytelling, and the environment is an underlying theme of the Tinker Bell movies, told through the magical world of Fairies, Pixie Hollow, where nature is nurtured. Tinker Bell is a natural ambassador of Green, living consistently in harmony with the environment, her appointment, as Honorary Ambassador of Green, is a great opportunity for this beloved character to play a key role in inspiring kids.

ABOUT TINKER BELL AND THE LOST TREASURE
In Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, releasing on Blu-ray and DVD October 27, Tinker Bell’s greatest adventure yet takes place in Autumn, as the fairies are on the mainland changing the colors of the leaves, tending to pumpkin patches, and helping geese fly south for the winter. The rare Blue Moon will rise, and when its light passes through the magical Fall Scepter that Tinker Bell has been summoned to create, Pixie Hollow’s supply of pixie dust will be restored. But when Tinker Bell accidentally puts all of Pixie Hollow in jeopardy, she must venture out across the sea on a secret quest to set things right.
