Nearly two months ago, Disney teamed up with leading netbook manufacturer ASUS to create the Disney-branded netbook, also known as the Netpal. With an option of either a boyish “Magic Blue” or girlish “Princess Pink“, the Netpal will run the standard ASUS 1 GB RAM, 160 GB hard drive, 8.9 inch screen, Windows XP, and nothing short of magic dust. Aimed for youth 8-14, one underlying feature is the ability for guardians to alter the parental controls.
After a couple months since the Netpal was first reported, Disney has now announced it will begin accepting pre-orders; this aesthetically slick gadget will run a parent around $350 and ship next week. Perfect timing for that back to school netbook.
