Dancing with the Stars: Quarter Finals Results

Soon, there will be four. Shall we get to it? (No, I’m not feeling clever or witty at the moment, why do you ask?)

They started out with the Encore. As I expected, it was Melissa’s Samba. She earned it and I would have been shocked if it had been anyone else.

And tonight saw this seasons’ edition of Dance Center. Absolutely hilarious as always. Len actually praised Ty during this segment, too.

And then we have the pro competition. All three dances looked good. I liked Maurice’s idea of truly learning a dance from scratch.

Along the way, we did learn about this season’s dancing competition. One by one, they told us who was safe until we were left with a bottom two. Yes, we actually had a bottom two this week. And they were:
Lil’ Kim & Derek Hough
Ty Murray & Chelsie Hightower

So far, my pick to go is still there. And my backup is there as well. Of course, given the scores, it wasn’t that big a surprise.

After a commercial break, we found out the couple going home is Lil’ Kim & Derek.

So, we lost both of the Hough siblings in back to back weeks. My jaw hit the floor when they made the announcement. I really did think it would be Ty going home tonight. It should have been Ty. He’s a nice guy, but he’s not a dancer at the semi-final level. Score one again for the fan base.

So, were you as shocked as I was? How will Ty (and everyone else) do next week? I will say this, we have an even number of men and women left. Plus this is the first woman to leave since the third elimination.

While we’re waiting, feel free to stop by my blog and say hi.

  1. Shocked? I was floored. But, I did prove to myself that I am often wrong. Two weeks in a row, that I was wrong and shocked. I cannot even begin to imagine how next week will play out.

    1. I was thinking of you when they made the announcement, especially after you said that Kim would outlast Shawn.

Next week will be very interesting, to put it mildly.

  2. I was very shocked too, though when they announced that Li’l Kim was *in* the bottom two, I started thinking it just might happen. Clearly, the fan base has had its say.

I like Ty, and impressed with how dramatically he improved, but he just can’t do the Latin dances justice and I think it’s *really* time for him to go. I’ll be really unhappy if Gilles goes home next week instead of Ty.

    1. I’m with you, I like Ty and how much he’s improved, but it is time for him to go home. And if he stays next week I’ll be rather upset.
