Steve Martin Cameo in ‘Disneyland Dream’ home video

A quick follow up on the story from the end of last year where the Barstow Family home video “Disneyland Dream” was placed on the on the Library of Congress National Film Registry.

Writer/comedian/actor Steve Martin, a former Disneyland cast member, found himself  in the home movie! It’s a very quick cameo. Martin, wrote a letter to the filmmaker that was published in The Hartford Courant:

“At age eleven I worked at Disneyland. I sold guidebooks at the park from 1956 to about 1958. I am as positive as one can be that I appear about 20:20 into your film, low in the frame, dressed in a top hat, vest, and striped pink shirt, moving from left to right, holding a guidebook out for sale.”

How cool is that. More from Martin in the Courant and CartoonBrew even has a frame from the section where Martin appears.

  1. Steve Martin’s physical comedy especially seems to owe a lot to Wally Boag. I can especially see it when I watch Wally’s Pecos Bill dance.
