I am so disappointed in myself for missing Jim Dale. And that does make sense how they came up with the idea. And it came out the year I was born too, but from "Nora and the lighthouse" I immediately heard a crazy, drunk Mickey Roonie saying "We don't want Nora to hear us." The only other reference I saw was that they were hiding out in the caves when the tide wasn't in. And I loved the happy version of "Candle on the Water." I wish they had sung more. But i have that bit of sad at the end of each episode as well. I haven't loved a show this much in so long.

One more connection I missed. Our beloved narrator Jim Dale play Doc Terminus in Pete's Dragon. In fact, I wonder if that was part of the reason for all the jokes.

Um, I was only two when Pete's Dragon came out. (I didn't see it until the late 80's and have watched it too many times to count since. I love it!)

I was just coming by to say virtually the same thing! Nice work on lining them all up...my girlfriend and I just watched Pete's Dragon a couple months ago, so we were getting a lot of laughs at all the references!

What did you miss? All the references to the Disney film Pete's Dragon. In the movie, the dragon is named Elliot and the main character is taken in by a lighthouse keeper named Nora whose fiancee was a sailor who vanished on a ship a couple years before. All the action takes place outside of Passamaquoddy (a real town in Maine). And the song the quartet sings at the end "Candle on the Water" was sung by Nora in the movie.

I think that's all of them.

I was totally geeking out last night. I think that's my favorite episode ever thanks to all those in jokes.
