PixarPlanet, via BoxOfficeMojo, is reporting the Cars 2 sequel will be released on June 24, 2011 from Pixar. A little bit about the plot has been revealed as well. Cars 2 will follow Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen as they find themselves in “a new world of intrigue, thrills and fast-paced comedic escapades around the globe.” Let’s hope it’s as successful as Toy Story 2 was.
