ABC.com goes retro for Life On Mars

So I went to ABC.com today and started having flashbacks like it was 1973. I was looking around to see if Adventure* was about to boot up on my computer.

This nifty pre-roll ad is designed to put the viewer back in 1973 just like protagonist Detective Sam Tyler will be tonight at 10/9c on ABC.

* Adventure (aka ADVENT) didn’t exist until 1976, but computer screens hadn’t really changed much by then. In those pre-WARGAMES days my Dad used to bring me into work with him on the weekends, he worked at a quasi-govermental agency that needed a massive computer to compute energy needs and delivery routes. To get the game started, he’d call down to the computer room and have them load the ADVENT tape for me onto the mainframe so I could play it a terminal while he got some work done. Those were the days.
