Oriental Land Company cuts new Disney project for Japan

Raise your hand if you knew that the Oriental Land Company (the operating company for Tokyo Disneyland Resort) was planning on building a Disney themed entertainment complex in a second Japanese city? I certainly didn’t. For some reason all the rumors were centered on Shanghai or Singapore.

But never the less those plans have been cancelled according to this Reuter’s report. No reason is given for the decision, but the reports mentions other non-Disney expansion will continue. Which makes me wonder about the health of the relationship between Disney and OLC.

Speaking of Tokyo Disneyland, Disney and More blog has pictures from this year’s celebration of Halloween over there. They certainly go whole hog over there.
