I just returned from Disney World 12/4/2008 and I am disappointed beyond belief to hear they are closing the best atraction for adults - I sat on the steps of the Adventurer's Club for 1-hour in shock and am still very dissipointed today. As a DVC owner and a large Disney stock holder all I can say is the person responsible should be FIRED!! This was a Huge mistake Disney's part - HUGE
The Adventurers Club has a large following and it was the place parents could escape to enjoy Adult time. Disney does not have to be 100% about the kids - they cold have at least saved this special place. With the switch to RCI in the DVC from ii - I feel Disney is on a down hill slide. As an RCI member the resorts are crap - I joined DVC for the QUALITY of Disney - SAD very SAD

I am happy to see someone else as displeased as I am at the closure of the clubs at Pleasure Island.
I particularly miss the Adventurers' Club, as there is nothing else like it anywhere. This was always a highlight of our trips to Disney world, and we we would go to the Adventurers' club 2 or 3 times during a week at the Disney parks.

I don't think the decision makers know what a unique and entertaining venue thay had.

We were at Disney last week and found out by reading an article of the closing of the clubs at Pleasure Island. I have to be honest, one of the reasons we go to Disney is the Comedy Club. We love it! We heard so many different stories about why it was closing, I would love to know the real reason. Not for lack of interest, because it was usually packed every performance. We heard Disney wanted to make it more family friendly. What about the adults they want to attract? We heard there were fights in the clubs and they did not want to deal with that. Sorry but that is going to happen anywhere! They need to just deal with it.
What will happen to all the great performers at both clubs? I am really upset at this news and am rethinking our DVC membership. Disney is making a mistake, a big one.
