Tinker Bell and her Fairy friends coming soon to Disneyland and Magic Kingdom

Tinker Bell and her Pixie Hollow Fairies made a very brief appearance at a media event this morning. I was only able to get this poor shot.

Sorry about that. Hopefully, we’ll get a better view in the coming days.All I could think was “thank god they don’t have those freaky masks like the Fairies in ‘Light Magic’ did.” As you can see, this might become one of Daddy’s favorite attractions at the parks.

The five fairies are taken from the upcoming Tinker Bell Movie that will be released on DVD October 29th. Their names are:

  • Tinker Bell, a tinker fairy;
  • Fawn, an animal fairy;
  • Iridessa, a light fairy;
  • Rosetta, a garden fairy; and
  • Silvermist, a water fairy.

“Tinker Bell,” Disney’s most famous fairy and four of her best friends will debut in a meet-and-greet experience in Mickey’s Toontown Fair at Magic Kingdom.  The Pixie Hollow attraction is scheduled to open October 24th at Walt Disney World. Disneyland will get a slightly different version (it’s outdoor for one) that should open by early November.

The guest experience will be more than just the meet and greet. A magical forest will gradually shrink guests down to fairy size as they enter Pixie Hollow. As guests hear Tinker Bell speak for the first time, they also are sure to meet one or more of her fairy friends. Additionally there will be storytelling and other interactive experiences for guests.

  1. I’m probably one of the few purists with objections. This is just so wrong on so many levels, I don’t quite know where to begin! I hate that a revisionist backstory has been invented for a classic character, and I think making her a face character in the parks destroys most of her mystique. But none of that is meaningful in the face of $ka-ching$, so I’ll shut up now!

  2. Ok, first off, Disney always wanted top try to find a way to have her as a face character, just never could find a way to make it believable (I think she might have been there for a short while in the beginning), so if this works it will be simply bringing what should have been from the start. As for a backstory, well, there obviously has to be other fairies, otherwise where would Tinkerbell come from? Now, I am not usually one for backstories and such, but this one makes some sense.

    I thought Bob Iger was going to put a stop to sequels, but apparently he has allowed for what I would consider a slap to the face of Walt Disney. He never liked doing sequels. Once he died, sequels popped up since The Rescuers Down Under. It just shows that Disney is running out of quality material, so they recycle and reinvent what should be untouchable classics.

  5. When did they change the names of the fairies? My daughter has all this Rainey stuff, and now the fairy Rainey is nowhere to be seen…
