Disney Themeparks raise Ticket Prices

Disneyland Ticket BookThe Walt Disney Company has announced it is raising one-day ticket prices at its domestic parks starting Sunday. This change had been rumored online for almost a week now, so I hope you took advantage and ordered your tickets for future vacations already.

At Walt Disney World tickets for those aged 10 and older will rise from $71 to $75, while tickets for children aged 3 to 9 will go from $60 to $63. Magic Your Way tickets are increasing about the same percentage. The park hopper option will also increase from $45 to $50.

At Disneyland one-day prices will rise from $66 to $69 for those aged 10 and older, and from $56 to $59 for children aged 3 to 9.

It’s assumed that annual pass prices will rise as well. As usual the more tickets you can afford to buy at once, the more affordable each day is. Just don’t forget the non-expiring option.

It seems to be an odd move to raise prices while at the same time cutting back on what you’re offering. For instance, at Walt Disney World, Fantasmic will go to weekends only, labor hours are also likely to be reduced resulting in longer lines at stores, attractions, and restauraunts. But it’s a tight economy for everyone. If yogurt can rise prices by 25% when they switch from 8 ounce to 6 ounce containers for the same price, then Disney should be allowed their slight increase.

  1. Without the knowledge from the Internet rumors I am still not surprised. Companies have to do their best to make a profit in this very volatile economy. It’s going to be tough for a few years. I think we can expect to see more of the above changes at the resorts.
