Ten Years of Caring for The Planet at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney\'s Animal Kingdom Logo from 1998April 22nd is Earth Day. It is the one day designated world wide to stop and think about the earth, our place on it, and what we can do to conserve its resources and beauty for future generations. It’s no small coincidence that Disney’s Animal Kingdom chose Earth Day to officially open to the public 10 years ago.

There will be a ceremony honoring the conjoined events on the 22nd. There will also be a Disney Fan organized program with events throughout the day. (unfortunately it has stopped accepting signups). But I wanted to do something special for Disney’s Animal Kingdom too.

So over the next 10 days The Disney Blog will have a series of posts that highlights Animal Kingdom’s Earth friendly ways. From their animal care program to Disney wildlife conservation fund to the day to day operations that make Animal Kingdom the best, and only, theme park of it’s kind on the planet.

Yeah but does anyone remember the joint promotion Disney staged with McDonalds to promote Animal Kingdom’s grand opening??? They used it to promote the McRib sandwich. Come to Animal Kingdom to celebrate the animals, then EAT them. LOL!
