New Blog’s Irreverent look at Vintage Disneyland

The Pickle Barrel is a new blog with a ‘slightly’ irreverent look back at Disneyland’s wonderful history (with a few Walt Disney World posts thrown in for good measure. This post on the old Disneyland Heliport shows more detail of the operation than I’ve ever seen before. This post has backstage photos from 1956. Stuff you just won’t see anywhere else.

This photo shows a backstage entrance with a sign that reads "Helicopter Passengers Check In." Check out that sculpture behind the skyway cars and the giant orange tree behind the guard shack.
