Disney tells Bush to ease off

  • by

It’s been in the wind around here that Walt Disney World, and the Orlando area in general, isn’t seeing near as many British and other foreign tourists this year.  The causes for that are likely varied, but now the Walt  Disney Company is asking the Bush administration to do what it can to ease at least one of them — travel restrictions.

The nation’s tourism industry says hostility toward the U.S. role in
Iraq has kept foreigners out of the United States in droves, and
security restrictions designed to keep the United States safe from
terrorists are unnecessarily restrictive and stoking anti-Americanism
worldwide.

Update: The Orlando Sentinel has an extended article up.
