The School of Cinema-Television at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles has announced the establishment of the John C. Hench Division of Animation & Digital Arts. This good news was made possible via a $5 million endowment gift from the estate of the late Disney animation artist Hench. John Hench died in 2004 and his influence on the Walt Disney Product from animation, to theme parks, to television is too long to list… it’s nice that his name will live on in the works of the students this school will generate. He also drew my favorite Disney painting of Epcot, I’m very sad I passed up the chance to buy it. This concept art linked above is of Tomorrowland, since I can’t find a copy of the Epcot one online.
