Pirates of the Caribbean II – Premier to be Webcast

  • by

Good news for everyone that can’t make it to Disneyland for the red-carpet event; Disneyland and MSM Video have announced they will broadcast live the world premiere of Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” on Saturday, June 24, from 7–8:30 p.m. PDT.

The webcast will be hosted by the MSN “Dish Diva” Taylor Johnson along with a Disneyland historian and Disney Imagineer who will go live at remote locations along the red carpet at the premiere. The 90-minute webcast will include interviews from the A-list celebrities on the red carpet along with information about the fun and exciting history of Disney’s beloved attraction that inspired the movies.

Not sure exactly how this is supposed to work since the stars are expected to arrive between 6pm and 7pm and the webcast won’t start until 7pm… still tune into http://movies.msn.com/movies/pirates_webcast on Saturday to find out. If you plan to go in person and line up along the red-carpet this year, my advice is to
get there early, then find out when and where they’ll let fans camp out
to see the stars. Or call Guest Relations tomorrow evening for the scoop. (link)

  1. I was at the Pirates of the Caribbean 2 Premiere on June 24th,2006 and I have to say that I was disappointed about not seeing Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom. They came past me so fast it was surreal.I had been sitting there for 16 hours I got sunburned and achey. Many of the girls were getting emotion after the zipped past us including me I was really looking forward to seeing them for more then 2 second.I was fortunate enough to get Keira Knightley’s autograph and picture. She was a lovely person.I noticed she did not spend all her time across the way from me in front of the media the whole time.I also need to add that I have a little 10 year old sister who loves high school musical was really looking foward to seeing Ashley Tisdale I have to say that am really disappointed in her because she spent the whole time in the media. When her fans were yelling her name she just looked at them with a snobbish look and rolled her eyes.If Keira Knightley a way bigger star can go to all her fans and sign everything put in her face then surely Ashley Tisdale I have no respect for her what so ever.

  2. i was at the premier on saturday at disneyland. it was awesome. although i do have to say we waited for an extremely long time just for about an hours worth of seeing the stars… but it was well worth the wait. i got pictures of all of the stars. and best of all i got johnny depp’s autograph! so if u werent there u missed the greatest thing!

  3. We were also at the premier. Interesting, but I doubt I would ever do it again. We got there at 3 and stood for six hours (the people immediately in front of us had been there since the park opened at 6:30!) The event started at 6 pm, but the big names didn’t show up until around 9. We did see Johnny Depp zoom by but Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightly spent a fair amount of time talking to the crowd in front of us and signing autographs (apparently Orlando even signed one girl’s boob!) It was fun watching the celebrities walk by but again, I’m not really sure it was worth the time and very sore feet!

  4. I can’t even watch the stupid webcast because you have to have specific software that I don’t have on my computer. How can you do something that excludes people? I thought Disney would be cooler that this, but I guess being in bed with Microsoft means they don’t care about all of us up to date people in the world that use Macs!

  5. Well they should have a premiere in NY..but they filmed pirates of the caribbean II and III in Dominica, not the dominican republic..don’t get it twisted..2 totally diff. Islands..anywayz..I had the divine priviledge of meeting and talking to johnny depp. He is really cool and I took a pic with him and the next day he signed the photo. Orlando bloom however is soooo stuck up its not funny

  6. I made it to the premier also… my sister and I were near the end of the carpet, stuck on the other side of the press box, and by the time any of them got near us, they practically walked by like there was no tomorrow. At least Keira slowed down a little so we could see her a little. Orlando barely even looked on our side of the carpet. And Johnny was like ZOOOM! I think the crowds made him nervous. As far as I could tell, he wasn’t signing anything at all, but maybe that was just near the beginning of the carpet. I don’t think I would do it again unless I knew I could get an autograph from at least someone. There’s no point in standing on the other side of the press box.

  7. WELL! for starters, your all lucky to live in the US at all! My friends and I live in Australia and we would die to go to the 3rd premier!

  8. I am interested in going to the world premier of Pirates 3 in Disneyland, but I don’t know the date, or how/where to get the tickets. Is there any way to order the tickets online?

  9. That day was my 2nd day in the US, I’m from Australia and thought that we would go to Disneyland. When i got there i wondered what the red carpet was for. Then i found out it was the premier. I totally fluked it!!! So i did the Disneyland stuff all day, then about 6pm i found a spot near the red carpet a saw heaps of famous people. I even shook Arnold Swcharzeneggars hand, said G’day to him and took his photo(he wasn’t on the red carpet area). It was definatley an experience as Australia does not have premiers like that! Though Johnny, Orlando & Kiera did rush past quickly. Cheers
