BoxOfficeMojo has a Pixar Movie Showdown comparing the last five films from Pixar. Cars suffered a 44% drop off this weekend in the box office, but still claimed the number one spot. The only competition this weekend is the Adam Sandler flick, Click. So Cars should continue to receive the family movie bucks for one more weekend. Then comes Superman Returns and then Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.
The next animated film is Monster House on July 21st (well, A Scanner Darkly comes first, but that’s not rated PG or G by any means). By that time Cars will have had almost two months of the animation box office to itself. Anyone care to make a prediction for final domestic and worldwide takes? (via)
