Did Disney Tone Down Mission:Space in 2005?

Mike Thomas, in his Orlando Sentinel column, speculates about Walt Disney World’s Mission:Space at Epcot and whether or not they toned in down in 2005. His evidence, a reduction in the number of reported injuries from guests who went on the ride.

He also quotes a comment made in this blog without attribution, but I won’t hold it against him.
