I had heard that Hong Kong Disneyland had to close its gates for the Chinese New Year. But I hadn’t heard it got this bad.
Scores of visitors, many of them mainland Chinese visiting the resort during the Lunar New Year holiday week, scaled the sharp railings of the locked gates to get to rides while others scuffled with staff.
Total in-park attendance was capped at around 30,000. Some people arrived at the closed gates with ‘flexible date’ tickets. Unfortunately, those don’t guarantee admission if the park is too crowded. The safety and enjoyment of the guests already inside take priority.
The bad news just keeps on coming over there.
