Hurricane Katrina hit HS Band hopes to march at Disney World

Hurricane Katrina may have destroyed most of their instruments and uniforms, but it couldn’t destroy their spirit. Biloxi Mississippi area Bay High Marching Band won the right to march at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, but damaged caused by Hurricane Katrina threatens the trip. They need to raise funds to replace the lost equipment and uniforms and soon.

But with limited resources after the storm, the students were told they may not be able to make the trip. They need about $96,000 to purchase the gear and accommodations it would take for the week long trip.

Howard Rapp is a drum line captain. He and his fellow band members were all looking forward to the trip, but as a Senior, it’s especially meaningful to him.

If you or your company can help somehow please contact the band director.
