Ready for Bambi

I’m getting pretty excited about the release of Bambi on DVD on March 1st! It’s been so long since I’ve seen this movie (probably when I was very little during a theatrical re-release), so watching it on DVD will be like discovering an entirely new Disney classic for me (and I can pretend Disney is still producing 2D animation!). My last Bambi memory is from the Animation Building at Disney’s California Adventure, where there was a Bambi clip that you could record your own voices to match the scene. My friends and I really concentrated on matching the clip, even though we gave Flower the deepest voice we could muster. But back to the DVD – I’m always impressed with the restoration treatment the older classics get, and there’s a fantastic Bambi frame comparison on Animated News for you to enjoy while you wait until March.
