Filming has yet to begin on the next editions of Disney’s Pirates of The Caribbean. We already know that superstar Johnny Depp has re-signed to play the lead role of Captain Jack Sparrow. Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly appear to have signed on as well. From best I can tell anyone vacationing in the Bahamas in April might have a chance of running into the cast and crew.
The latest news is that Hong Kong superstar, who has been making an entry into American film, Chow Yun-fat has been signed to play Chinese pirate Cheung Po Tsai in both films. Which, I suppose, tells us something about the plot for the next two films.
Now this story says these are going to be sequels, which would make it easier to include the Bloom and Knightly Characters. But I had heard that at least one of the films would look back on the early days of Jack Sparrows pirate career. I’ll try and get confirmation of that when I get a chance.
Finally, they’re being released a little late for Christmas, but Master Replicas have come out with the first commercially available replicas of the Cursed Aztec Gold Coins from the original movie. Gotta get me a few of these.
