Small Tourist Destinations to be hit hard

To Disney World a single hurricane is just a blip on the radar screen. A little downturn in the attenandce that is planned for. Two hurricanes in a month is just a little tougher to budget for, but no big deal financially. However, if you’re a mom and pop operation, a small business, or even a midsize company with a balance sheet that that is carefully balanced, two hurricanes in a month is devastation. Espeically when the month is August and tourist dollars are expected to be rolling in. With a hurricane, tourists have plenty of warning to just stay home. So even if you manage to avoid nature’s fury, the economic penalties are still there.

Which brings up another point, another great way to help Florida recover from this double whammy is to book a trip this fall or winter. Help put families back to work.
