For Hurricane Charley the Disney Themeparks missed the brunt of the storm’s force. Still Animal Kingdom was closed for nearly two days, Typhoon Lagoon was closed for five days, some golf courses took much longer to fix, and the other parks closed early before the storm arrived.
Now we’re beginning to hear of cancellations for this weekend. The Tom Joyner Family Reunion has been cancelled. I expect we’ll hear from the parks about shortened hours for Saturday soon. Also expect Typhoon Lagoon to close for a few days as the theme of the park, a hurricane strikes a campground, is considered unsensative to those hurt by the storm.
