Has Disney World Gone to the Dogs?

or the bean counters?

In the last fifteen years or so, there’s been a big shift in how the parks handle retailing. I don’t know if this was because they put the former head of the Disney Store in charge of the parks, or they put him in charge because they wanted to increase retailing, but the results are not great. It seems as every square inch of every park is now used for retailing; that in itself is mildly annoying, but more bothersome is what is being sold

Art writes of his recent, pre-charley, trip to WDW. Art’s obviously more familiar with Disneyland than he is Disney World. So it’s interesting to see his take on things.

The improvement in the Cuisine is a big plus! Please tell someone in charge to upgrade some of the Inside Hotels carpeting, and put back the birds at the Polynesian, along with the hanging planters and all…and get rid of the boring parades, get the lively ones back, and…..
